Caters for children with special needs. Founded by the late Mr Riaz Jamal, Mrs Zuleika Docrat and Mrs Shaamia Joosab, these individuals recognised the urgent need to establish a Madrasah for the deaf. Due to the resounding success from this project, it was realised that a special needs school underpinned by Islamic values was required by the Muslim community in Kwa-Zulu Natal.

The AK Jadwat family generously came forward and leased premises situated at 133 Essendene Road, Overport, Durban free of charge to the Al Ansaar Foundation. In 2008, the Ibn Masud Centre of Excellence was established and opened its doors to its first learners

Vision
To create a centre where students with special needs can find a place to learn, socialise and develop so that they can accomplish and sustain a productive, healthy and happy lifestyle. This centre will mainly cater to underprivileged children with special needs, who are often turned away from conventional institutions due to lack of funding or social status.
